Of course AJ Bear has been on multiple trips to Comox- which is our second home. No doubt his favourite trip would be when he was accompanied with 6 of the GFT girls all hugging him. There’s something magical about Comox. The people are sincere and authentic. The sunrises and sunsets are magnificent – right from the front yard. And sometimes mother nature puts on a spectacular show with killer whales circling in the ocean whilst we eat our supper.
The best part is that when I get there, AJ Bear and I can backpack home from the airport and when we meet our neighbours, they welcome us with open hearts and joy in their eyes. And we talk about what we are going to do rather than what we used to do.
Too often in Edmonton, people look at us with sorrow in their eyes about what has been.
